The team to beat this weekend is none other than the engineering magicians at Sector 67 who have taken their maiden season all the way to the top in Kansas City. With a nearly 100 point lead above Milwaukee Makerspace’s Grave Digger, the boys from Madison Wisconsin are looking very comfortable in their position. Don’t assume they aren’t sweating bullets though, the experienced team of MM has answered the competitive call for this season. The much improved outfit has made significant strides in speed and reliability.

Pumping Station One: A Return to Glory
The biggest improvement over last season has to go Patrick Callahan’s outfit at PS:One. The Cop car has proven to be bullet-proof in reliability and a bold performance by Beth Callahan aka Erica Estrada was enough to scrape a win away from the ever-dominating Sector 67. It was the first victory psone had taken since 2009, and a needed one at the that. The team’s last season struggles were dramatic and disappointing, effectively ending Sarah Sutherlin’s hopes of defending her title. The team’s restructuring for the 3rd time in 3 years proved to be the charm, and it was a dominant Endurance race that solidified that psone was back in business.

Milwaukee Makerspace: Always a Contender.
There’s never a dull moment from the Milwaukee squad, and this season has proven that they are one tough customer. Though Royce Pipkins is out for the season, Gravedigger will still be present and will carry on the title chase without him. Though side lined, Royce will be working in the pits as the hopes for Milwaukee remain high. Tom’s improvements to his machine have been noted, and other than a few mishaps at Kansas City, he is still focused on finishing a race this season. David, aka Big Jake, will have a new motor ready for competition and a new strategy to help his teammates win.

Duct Tape & Zip Ties: The David Amongst Goliaths
Within just a few months, DT&ZT went from outsiders of the Maker Movement to deeply embedded makers. The team never knew of the Kansas City outfit CCCKC, but upon entering the PPPRS they signed up wholesale. Now carrying the potential title hopes for CCCKC themselves the team has vowed to have rooted out the tire issues that plagued them late race in KC, and are ready to face the track without home town advantage.

i3 Detroit: Fallen From Grace
The title hopes for i3 Detroit may already be over, but the team is set to making a Moxie blitz this weekend. Watch for this team to target themselves against the leaders, to strip points away from the top teams in favor of good ol’ competition. i3 Might be down for the count, but it is still in contention for wowing the crowd. I3 has announced a new driver introduced to their team, Karen Corbeill, who helped organize PPPRS operations last year. We shall find out shortly how the team will do with the rookie driver, as Ted Hansen has worked hard to get the black #3 up to running speed again.
